"Foolish" is a short story following Delphi and Sagewing. Delphi, an Oracle for the clan, has fallen in love with, and become pregnant with Sagewing's hatchlings. She spends most of the story stressing over a vision she has had, which says that Sagewing's soul will soon be with the Windsinger. She suspects this means that Sagewing will soon die, and spends her time praying for forgiveness for attempting to defy fate.
