"A dragon lives to protect and serve their deity. We are no different." --Aislinn

Overview

An empire of seers, scribes, warriors, artisans and everything in between, the Moonlit Waves reside in the Star-touched Atoll, between the Fishspine Reef and Leviathan Trench, just off the coast of the Windswept Plateau. The Empire is divided into six different kingdoms, with Oceanstead ruling over them all. Traditionally, the Kingdoms of the Waves are all matriarchal, although this isn't strictly the case. Females hold most of the power in the kingdoms, its true, yet males can hold power as well.

Location

The Moonlit Waves live in the Star-Touched Atoll: a group of islands and reefs that are hidden by undersea tunnels.

Kingdoms of the Waves

There are a total of six kingdoms within the Moonlit Waves.

  • Oceanstead rules over all kingdoms. They live on the actual islands, deep within large cenotes.
  • Sigurdsson occupies the rims of the islands. This kingdom is mainly made of dragons from other Flights.
  • Hayashi is made up of mostly scribes and seers. They occupy the reef that surrounds the islands.
  • Allard is the most diverse of all the lesser kingdoms. It is home to scribes, seers, warriors and everything else in between. They live deeper in the water, sharing the undersea tunnels with Hashemi.
  • Llwyd is often seen as the most mysterious of all the lesser kingdoms. They live on the cliff of the trench, deeper than the other kingdoms, and only emerge when there is a meeting of the kingdoms.
  • Hashemi is the smallest of the kingdoms, and is thus filled with dragons who wish to prove their worth. They share their home with Allard.

Ranks Within the Kingdoms

High Queen

As stated above, the traditional leader of the clan is the High Queen, although this doesn't stop a High King from existing as well. The High Queen (or king) rules over every kingdom in the Moonlit Waves as the highest form of authority. They are almost never questioned by those under them and are in charge of almost everything from accepting alliances and foreign dragons to exiling, promoting and demoting.

King consort

Traditionally male, the King consort is the mate of the High Queen. While a Queen consort can exist, this is quite rare. A consort doesn't usually have as much power as thier mate does, and is often overruled by the High Prince(ss).

High Princess

Although usually the daughter of the High Queen, the High Princess can also be a dragon the current monarch thinks is worthy of the position. As with other positions, a High Prince can exist as well.

First Brood

Members of the First Brood live in the house of Oceanstead and include the High Prince(ss). They are the ones that the High Queen/King and King/Queen consort have adopted into their family. They can often hold ranks of the exarchs, but often have ranks on the commontry.

Lesser Monarchs

The Lesser Monarchs are just that. They are kings and queens of the other five kingdoms. Lesser monarchs are just one leader. They don't need a mate to rule, and more often than not their mate is in a different kingdom. While the lesser monarchs are given the freedom to do what they wish, they are subject to the wishes of the High Queen/King.

The Exarchs

Exarchs are dragons who form a council. The are the leaders of each aspect of clan life. At the light of the first full moon, they all gather together and discuss with the High Queen/King, their consort and the First Brood to go over clan-life in detail.

  • The High Physician is in charge of making sure all healing items and such are in stock. They also report on the health of the clan. They also have the chefs under their wings, as good nutrition is also one of their duties.
  • The Lord Seer
  • The Head Scribe
  • The artisans have the Keeper of Art
  • Chosen by contest, the Head Warrior

The Gentry

The Commontry
